Photographing newborns is probably my favorite type of photography that I do. I absolutely love being able to capture a tiny human’s first weeks of life. And of course, I get to hold those sweet babies!
I also truly enjoy serving my client and being able to provide this service in the comfort of their home.
This is what I bring to my newborn photo sessions which is basically everything!
Hats! Bonnets! Outfits! Oh my!
The photo on the left are all my swaddle wraps. This is what I use to bundle your baby up all snug and warm. The top and bottom photos are layer pieces made from hand-spun wool and lace. They bring beautiful texture and color to your images and babies love how soft they are!
Props! but not overkill. I keep it simple with a cute bed and a couple of buckets. After all, your perfect baby is the star of the image!
Posing blankets that I use on my bean bag. Made of super soft cotton. The next image will show you where I place them!
Speaking of bean bag! This is my posing station. I bring this bean bag along with the backdrop stand and build it right in your living room. It only takes a couple minutes and I usually employ a super cute older sibling to “help” assemble it. They love it!
Lighting! If there isn’t enough good light in your home I am prepared to create it. I also bring a heater (bottom photo) to keep the space warm for baby. It’s a great tool to keep my babies warm and verry sleepy. A cold newborn is an unsettled and unhappy newborn which will result in images of crying babies, which in my opinion is still super adorable but that’s just me!
That’s it folks! I am fully equipped with everything we need to make your session awesome. I also bring my best asset, ENDLESS PATIENCE. I am very calm and zen and I always make sure my clients are comfortable and don’t feel pressured for time or anything! Your baby will need to eat and get a diaper change at some point during the session and there will always be time for that.
